Why kevin Myers

I have just read yesterdays article in the Indo by said Mr Myers.
I don't get it. What is the mainland?Why does he spend 800 words writing about inconsequential histories in order to get to the point of complaining of a restaurant service he got on his jollies and then equating it to Dublin in 1986?
And he gets paid(alledgedly) e200k a year(alledgedly) for this?
I wish him well in his negotiating skills as I wish I could land one like that - I know I need some skill in getting to 1,200 words in an essay - how many times a week does he do this?- but I will endeavour and practice as often as I can to improve and develop for it is now my goal - I want to get that kind of money- so I can spend(or not as the case maybe- he left without paying his bill- shock!horror! - by the sounds of it he didn't consume it - you are a very naughty boy) it on holidays in Cumbria wondering about the background to where some very decent people in Kerry I am sure, got their surnames from.
Perhaps he could disect Chacana for me - I don't mond if he wants to spend some of his hard earned cash on some genealogy investigations for me - as if he is kind enough to print the derivative on his headline I will buy a copy of the Indo so as to let his paymasters facilitate payment to said Mr Myers.
Anyway why pick on Dublin in 1986? I thought it was a cool time - you got what you paid for whereas today you pay for something you don't know you will get!
